Financial
Aid Office It is our goal to assist you in meeting your college costs through a variety of federal and state grants. To determine your eligibility for assistance, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA forms received by the U.S. Department of Education by our priority filing date of June 1 will receive priority consideration. The priority filing date for new spring students is Oct 1.
Applying for
Financial Aid We
recommend that you apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
This is the easiest and quickest way to apply for financial aid. When completing the FAFSA, be sure to
include our federal school code (009159)
on your application so that the processed results will be electronically sent
to PDCCC for review. A new application for financial aid must be filed each
year. Processing time depends on whether you have a pin number or
must sign and mail the signature page. Go to www.pin.ed.gov for the fastest and preferred
method to apply for a pin. Reviewing your Financial Aid Awards On-Line

the appropriate aid year. For example, 2007 represents the 2006-2007 award
year. Your awards for the academic year should now appear. Awards for
each term are listed. An
award letter is also mailed. Please
sign and return one copy of the award letter to the financial aid office
within 14 days.
There
are many ways to search for additional scholarships. The quickest and
easiest way is to use the Internet. The Internet’s largest free scholarship
search is www.fastweb.com. No matter which search you use for
scholarships, you should never have to pay for this service. Other
requirements for Financial Aid All
recipients of Federal or State Aid are required to maintain Satisfactory
Academic Progress (SAP) in their course of study. As a student, your
satisfactory progress will be evaluated at the time an application (the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid) is received. The Financial Aid Office also reviews SAP
once yearly for associate degree-seeking students and after every semester
for certificate degree-seeking students.
You
must successfully maintain the college's SAP standards to receive financial
aid. If you lose eligibility for financial
aid due to not making satisfactory progress, you have the right to appeal
this loss. Details about the SAP policy and the appeal process are available
in the college catalog. If You
Withdraw From All Classes
If
you are a student who is receiving a Pell Grant, SEOG, or ACG Grant and
you officially withdraw from all classes, the college must determine how much
of the grant assistance you have earned prior to your complete withdrawal
from this period of enrollment. Your aid will be reduced to the actual amount
of aid that was earned. If
you are a student who is receiving federal aid and you unofficially withdraw
(stop attending all classes without completing the official withdrawal
process), we must also reduce your aid to the actual aid earned for the
enrollment period. For
more information, please refer to the college catalog under Administrative
Information, Return Policy (Title IV).
The college
catalog is available online.
