Customized Training

Working closely with the employer, the Workforce Development staff designs training to meet the specific needs of the company’s workforce. Customized training includes an array of topics and can be offered at any of the College’s location or at the worksite. Depending upon the company’s needs, training may vary in length from several hours to long-term programs.

Computer Training

Contract computer training in Windows XP, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation or other software can be designed to meet the specific needs of the workforce. Computer training labs are available at each of the College’s locations.

Pre-Employment Training

Expanding the traditional recruitment process, pre-employment training provides management with an opportunity to observe potential employees before a hiring decision is made. Training may include the company’s orientation program, related studies customized to suit the company’s needs, hands-on training, skills assessment and team-building exercises.

WorkKeys

A national job profiling and assessment system, ACT WorkKeys can be used to profile skill requirements for specific jobs, evaluate current or prospective employees’ skills and develop training to meet individual and organizational needs. WorkKeys addresses basic employability skills and the level of these skills needed to perform the job.
